RFA Talk > Business Travel Suggestions

Does anyone have suggestions for business travel? I will be arriving by airplane and will not have a car. I have requested a fridge in the room, but am not sure I will get it. Can I really eat three meals a day in restaurants and stay on plan? What do you do that helps.
Thanks

Hi Kelly,

My first 3 years of abstinence I traveled all over the US for my job. Getting a fridge in your room will help a lot. I made breakfast loaves and would carry them on the plane with me in a cooler for all of my breakfasts, has everything i need in them and I could get from the East Coast to CA and they'd still be frozen and just pop them in the fridge. I carried powdered skim milk for metabolics. I could usually find some kind of fruit somewhere or order a fruit plate with dinner and bring it back. I also carried dry oatmeal to use on a salad if I couldn't get a potato. I also found frozen barley traveled well. I would also bring tempeh with me in case I couldn't find a safe protein. I used camping supply containers for my olive oil and vinegar or other dressings like mayo, must and yogurt combo already in one serving sizes. I used tupperware's little salt and pepper shakers and filled one of them with cinnamon and another with chili powder to make the grilled dry food taste better. If I couldn't get safe cooked veggies I just ate salad at both meals, figured it was ok when I traveled. That's about it, I really never had any major catastrophes and was able to carry all of my food in a cooler with me on the plane. I did some of this post 9/11 too, but I haven't flown recently, so not sure if the rules have changed with carry on food. You can do it!
